Korea’s AI Solutions Go Global

The global AI industry is undergoing rapid transformation driven by technological evolution, commercialization, and increased investment. Forbes Korea’s “Korea AI 50” highlights the current state of AI commercialization in Korea by identifying companies that are achieving tangible results in the market. Rather than focusing solely on technological capability, the list recognizes businesses demonstrating real-world success and growth potential—thereby contributing to a virtuous cycle in Korea’s AI ecosystem and enhancing global competitiveness.

Forbes Korea concentrated on companies that are leading “real change and innovation” in the AI industry, measured through the most objective indicators of commercial viability and market value.

Using data from The VC, a Korean startup and VC database, Forbes Korea extracted Korean startups and mid-sized companies whose main technologies or product descriptions included “AI.” A total of 924 companies were initially selected. Companies that were still in development phases or lacked key evaluation data were filtered out.

The final evaluation was based on four indicators:

Number of registered patents

Total investment raised

Number of employees

2024 revenue

To emphasize technical validation and market potential, greater weight was assigned to the number of patents and funding raised. Based on this scoring system, additional factors such as current business performance, executive leadership maturity, and global market potential were reviewed, resulting in the final selection of 50 companies for the “2025 Korea AI 50.”
