ACRYL, a South Korean AI platform company, is rapidly advancing its global outreach by leveraging two core solutions: JONATHAN, an end-to-end AI lifecycle management platform, and NADIA, a healthcare-focused AI information system.
Founded in 2011, ACRYL began with a focus on “emotive computing” technology, aiming to understand human psychology and conditions through AI. This foundation evolved into precision language analysis capabilities—such as natural language processing (NLP), emotion recognition, named entity recognition, and intent analysis—which led to the launch of JONATHAN in 2019, a machine learning operations (MLOps)-based integrated AI platform.
JONATHAN supports the development, training, and deployment of high-performance AI models, enabling government agencies and enterprises to build and manage AI systems in-house. It has recently delivered tangible outcomes in public-sector AI initiatives, such as the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs' digital restoration project for independence fighters and the Ministry of Unification’s AI-powered North Korea intelligence analysis platform.
In healthcare, ACRYL supports digital transformation and AI adoption in small- and mid-sized hospitals through its NADIA platform. Based on hospital information systems (HIS), NADIA integrates and analyzes medical data to build diagnostic AI models customized for each hospital.
ACRYL is also accelerating its global expansion by targeting developing countries with limited medical infrastructure. Ongoing projects include AI solutions for infectious disease detection and burn diagnosis in collaboration with Uzbekistan’s Fourth Hospital and Da Nang Hospital in Vietnam. Domestically, pilot deployments are underway with major institutions including Pusan National University Hospital.
Designed to work in tandem with JONATHAN, NADIA allows hospitals to easily create and deploy AI solutions using their own medical data. Even smaller hospitals can implement features such as AI-assisted diagnostics, mental health prediction, and infectious disease monitoring with ease.
[Interview] Jin Park, CEO of ACRYL
“Healthcare is where AI can truly demonstrate both social and industrial value.”
Jin Park, a Ph.D. in search-based AI and founder of ACRYL, has consistently focused on practical and sustainable AI applications since founding the company in 2011. He found a breakthrough in the healthcare sector.
“In many developing countries, the shortage of qualified medical professionals makes AI a necessity rather than an option,” Park explained. “AI is critical for improving national healthcare access and creating sustainable medical ecosystems.”
ACRYL continues to expand its domestic healthcare footprint. It recently received regulatory approval for a medical device software that predicts depression using AI—further validating its competitiveness in the healthcare sector. The company also leads the Korea Association of Intelligent Wellcare Industries (KIWI), spearheading the creation of a wellcare data ecosystem with over 120 member organizations.
“I want to help build a software-centric AI ecosystem that truly improves people’s lives,” said Park. “ACRYL will set a new standard for AI that is human-centered and socially meaningful.”
