On the 21st, Jin Park, CEO of Acryl, was invited by the Korea Game Society to give a lecture titled "Return and Stay: Honoring Patriots through Digital Humans." The session explored the reconstruction of historical figures using digital technology and the significance of such initiatives.

Acryl is a company specializing in custom AI solutions, and during the lecture, Jin Park introduced the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs’ AI-based Digital Human Content Platform Project, which recreated Kim Gu, Ahn Jung-geun, and Yoon Bong-gil as digital humans. He emphasized the importance of balancing visual and intelligence elements in digital human development while ensuring they serve as interactive platforms to enhance user engagement.

From a digital heritage perspective, Acryl conceptualized the project under the themes of "Return" and "Stay." "Return" refers to restoring historical figures based on authentic records and implementing AI-powered interactive dialogue capabilities, while "Stay" ensures that digital humans remain relevant through offline exhibitions, educational content, and integrated management platforms.

The lecture also provided an in-depth explanation of the digital human development process, covering data collection, defining character identity, reconstructing facial and vocal features, preparing user interaction scenarios, integrating AI functions, and kiosk implementation. Additionally, Park shared technical challenges such as lip-syncing, speech modulation, and response filtering, along with the solutions developed to enhance digital human interactions.

Various use cases of digital humans were also introduced, including kiosk demonstrations at memorial halls, promotional videos by the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, tribute readings at the National Memorial Day ceremony, pop-up exhibitions, and anamorphic advertisements at Gwanghwamun. The audience responded enthusiastically, recognizing the project as a prime example of how digital human technology can preserve cultural heritage, offer new experiences to the public, and promote national patriotism.

Jin Park emphasized, "Through this patriotic digital human project, we can foster national unity and strengthen patriotic consciousness." He referenced studies indicating that heightened patriotism can help mitigate social divisions and generate economic ripple effects. Expressing gratitude for Acryl's role in this initiative, he reaffirmed the company's commitment to advancing digital human technology for broader applications across various industries.

Meanwhile, the Open Seminar, titled "Establishing the Identity of Korean Cultural Heritage in the AI Era," was co-hosted by the Cultural and Arts Division of the Korea Game Society and the Royal Imperial Prince Uichin Memorial Society, with sponsorship from the Game Rating and Administration Committee. The seminar was designed to facilitate in-depth discussions on how digital technology can be utilized to preserve and enhance Korean cultural heritage in the AI era.
