The AI-focused YouTube channel 'Jin's Hidden Al.ley' has garnered industry attention by conducting an in-depth analysis of the Chinese AI startup 'DeepSeek' while also examining trends in the global and domestic AI industries and discussing future growth prospects.
'Jin's Hidden Al.ley' is a channel operated by Jin Park, President of the Korea Intelligent Wellcare Industry Association and CEO of Acryl. As an AI expert, he produces content that simplifies AI concepts for the public.
President Park highly evaluates DeepSeek's cost-effective chip utilization but emphasizes that the competitiveness of AI companies ultimately lies in service development. He refers to Jevons' paradox, highlighting that hardware performance alone is not enough to secure a competitive edge in the market.
Furthermore, as the AI industry moves toward Artificial General Intelligence (AGI), Park acknowledges DeepSeek's efficient use of reinforcement learning and knowledge distillation in developing Large Language Models (LLMs). He states that DeepSeek's low-cost strategy could serve as an inspiration for Korean AI startups, offering valuable insights into future research directions.
Additionally, he stresses that for the Korean AI industry to advance in the right direction, companies must develop industry-specific AI solutions that leverage high-quality proprietary data from promising domestic sectors to enhance their competitiveness.
Meanwhile, Jin Park, who holds a bachelor's, master's, and Ph.D. in Computer Science from KAIST, founded the AI-specialized company Acryl (ACRYL) in 2011. He has made significant contributions to the development of the AI industry, receiving several prestigious awards, including the 2018 Korea ICT Excellence Award (Intelligent Information Division) from the Ministry of Science and ICT and a Ministerial Commendation at the Software R&D Performance Presentation.
